Understand that writing is an indispensable skill in science.
Applying knowledge and understanding:
Learn the basic principle to communicate their science in a written form.
Making judgements:
Master the iterative process of writing and editing.
Communication skills:
Acquire the written communication skills necessary to communicate with peers and administrations.
Knowledge of English (intermediate level or more)
This course is intended for students to acquire the necessary skills to be proficient in writing communication. Several aspects of writing will be addressed from communication with the administration and peers, to writing scientific manuscripts. All classes will be interactive and participatory.

Scientific English: all important aspects, from grammar to style, to American English/British English
Scientific manuscripts
Case reports
Posters
Other writing matters: communication with administration and other correspondence in science.
Lessons with practical writing tasks.
This is not a course for passive spectators as in that case students would not improve their writing skills. There will be at least one writing assignment in each lesson.
Any changes to the methods described here, which may become necessary to ensure the application of the safety protocols related to the COVID19 emergency, will be communicated on the website of the Department, of the study program and course website.
The material (slides, exercises, videos, etc.) used during the course will be available on Moodle.
Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop for practical sessions.
