Graduation: specific information

Final Examination

The final examination consists of:

  • the completion of an Assessed Practical Test (Prova Pratica Valutativa - PPV), held prior to the thesis defence, aimed at verifying your technical and ethical-professional preparation for professional qualification;
  • the public defence of your thesis, i.e. an original dissertation on a topic related to the objectives of the Course and carried out under the supervision of a member of the teaching staff acting as Supervisor.

You may only proceed to the thesis defence if you pass the Assessed Practical Test. Following the thesis defence and registration with the Professional Register, you will be awarded the qualification enabling you to practise as a psychologist.

Assessed Practical Test

The Assessed Practical Test consists of an oral examination that assesses whether you have achieved the learning objectives and acquired the skills related to the core content of the Assessed Practical Placement (Tirocinio Pratico Valutativo - TPV). One Assessed Practical Test session is scheduled for each graduation session.

To take the Assessed Practical Test, you must have completed the Assessed Practical Placement with a positive evaluation from the Integrated Placement Committee (Commissione Tirocini Integrata -CTI) and submitted your degree application in compliance with the deadlines and administrative requirements for each session.

Thesis

You may submit a theoretical thesis, although an experimental thesis is recommended. The thesis must be carried out under the supervision of a member of the Department of Life Sciences. The Regulations of the final examination – Master's Thesis provide detailed information regarding the length of the thesis, the possibility of writing the thesis in English, the criteria for awarding the degree mark and the presentation and defence of the thesis during the examination session.

The final examination consists solely of the presentation and defence of the thesis and is governed by the same Regulations mentioned as above.
