Syllabus

LEARNING SKILLS of the terminologies and definitions of dermoscopic and confocal criteria in the field of non-invasive diagnosis in dermatology.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: To acquire the ability and knowledge about the diagnosis of common benign and malignant neoplastic diseases of the skin.
AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: acquire adequate critical processing skills among different types of neoplastic skin diseases to be able to recognize main benign and malignant neoplastic skin diseases and to describe them appropriately

COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS:acquire adeguate terminology in non invasive diagnosis in dermatology is essential to discuss and to interact within the scientific community

For a satisfactory learning of the contents of this course it is necessary that the student has acquired the basic knowledge of dermatology, anatomy and clinical pathology

The program aims to let students know about techiques, instruments and semiotics of dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy to diagnose benign melanocytic and non-melanocytic skin tumors and malignant melanocytic and non-melanocytic skin tumors.

Knowledge acquisition will be verified through a written exam (12 questions with 4 multiple choice answers- each counting 1 point. The duration of the written test is 30 minutes. Passing the test is given according to the number of correct answers, and is expressed as approved or non approved. The minimum score for the approvation corresponds to a seven correct answers.
