1. Understand the main issues related to patient radiation protection, with particular emphasis on risk/benefit assessment; 2. Know the fundamental aspects of radiation protection measures; 3. Be familiar with the legal regulations concerning patient radiation protection; 4. The student is expected to demonstrate the ability to apply the acquired knowledge, reasoning according to the specific logic of the discipline and understanding the challenges associated with the use of different imaging techniques.

Student assessment is based on an oral examination, consisting of open-ended questions aimed at evaluating the student’s knowledge and reasoning ability. The exam is graded on a scale of thirty. To pass the exam (18/30), the student must demonstrate that they have acquired and understood the basic concepts covered during the course. To achieve the highest mark (30/30 with honours), the student must demonstrate an excellent understanding of all the topics addressed in the course. In the case of a mark of 30/30, up to one additional point may be awarded for the distinction cum laude.
