Syllabus

Knowledge and understanding: To learn the basic notions of pediatrics, the characteristics of a healthy child, the prevention of child pathologies
Applying knowledge and understanding: to be able to find, recognize and interpret information on pediatric prevention programs
Making judgements: to analyze the usefulness of screening and prevention campaigns and to evaluate the possible consequences on the child's health
Communication skills: to know how to explain the basic notions of pediatrics, the characteristics of a healthy child, the prevention of child pathologies with correct terminology
Learning skills: to be able to learn the basic notions and to independently find further information on pediatric prevention topics

Pediatric age as the age of changes, from birth to adolescence through screenings and health assessment:

The exam consists of a written test with 15 closed-ended questions on different topics of the program which will allow to evaluate the level of knowledge of the topics and 2 open-ended questions which will explore the ability to apply this knowledge in dealing with specific clinical situations.
The final grade will be calculated as follows:
- for closed-ended questions: each correct answer is worth 2/n (where n is the number of correct answers), each incorrect answer is worth -0.5 (maximum score per question = 2)
- for open-ended questions: the evaluation will be up to 4 points per question based on exhaustiveness, synthesis and comprehensibility; the score of the open-ended questions will be valid for honors
- Exam not passed: the student does not have the minimum required knowledge of the main contents of the course (total score <18)
