Syllabus

Applied knowledge and understanding:
Knowing how to identify the anatomical sites, the methods of detecting vital parameters, the values ​​considered suitable and the symptoms related to altered values ​​of blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature.
Knowing how to distinguish the principles governing the choice of the appropriate technique to achieve hand hygiene in relation to the procedures to be performed. Be able to properly wash your hands according to procedure.
Know the parts and functions of a syringe and acquire a minimum of skill in use (aspiration, needle change, injection).
Correctly choose the injection site and the method of administration of vaccines and immunological products.
Be able to recognize the venous anatomy in order to correctly identify the injection site and correctly perform the sampling on the manikin according to the procedure.
Be able to describe the Mantoux test principle, method, expected results and limits to its use.
Being able to use PPE correctly both in dressing and in undressing to reduce or eliminate the risk of infection.
Knowledge and understanding:
Knowing the active ingredient and knowing how to distinguish the use of antiseptics for intact and non-intact skin, and mucous membranes and the use of disinfectants.
Know the techniques used in the vaccination clinic to make the injection practice less painful especially in the infant and child.
Communication skills and autonomy of judgment:
to be able, through the internship logbook, to self-reflect on the experience, individually or in a group, writing down the experiential experience in order to better understand the processes underlying each choice or behavior.
Be able, through the internship report, to describe the organization of the Prevention departments and the roles of the main professionals, the functions and activities of the Health Assistant in the internship, comparing it to the theoretical knowledge learned and concluding with food for thought and improvement.
At the end of the course, students will have acquired specific language and terms on the topics covered in order to be able to communicate competently.

For admission to the internship exam: 100% attendance and participation in the observational internship and classroom internships.

During the internship in the classroom the following topics will be addressed:
Vital parameters: respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature.
Hand hygiene.
PPE biological risk stages of dressing and undressing.
The routes of drug administration.
Antiseptics and Disinfectants.
Characteristics of the syringe.
Methodology of injection practice (intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal).
The venous sampling.
The Mantoux Test.
Reduction of pain related to vaccinations.
Presentation of the organization of the Departments.
Internship regulation presentation. (General and specific objectives of the first year,, Protection of privacy and commitment to confidentiality, Management of injuries and injuries at biological risk, drafting of the logbook, final internship report, assessment of learning).
Compilation of an internship diary.

Frontal lessons in the classroom.
Practical and interactive classroom activities and exercises, carried out individually and in groups with the supervision of the professional tutor.
Attendance at the internship locations in agreement and sub-convention with the teaching office to which they belong with the supervision of the internship assistant, according to the schedule communicated by the professional tutor.
Preparation of an internship diary.
Drafting of an internship report with construction of job description.



The final evaluation is based on:
- The evaluation of the observational internship compiled by the internship tutors, at the end of the attendance in the services, is aimed at measuring the student's skills related to the knowledge of the service, the skills achieved, the ability to listen and respond to users and the level of autonomy achieved.
-The evaluation of the internship report which will take into account the relevance of the paper with respect to the delivery, the ability to describe the service, the related activities and the role of the health assistant within it. It will also take into account the ability to carry out a self-analysis with respect to the training opportunity and a self-assessment of knowledge, skills and attitudes in the sector. The appropriate uses of the register and linguistic expression and the editorial format will also be rewarded. A mark out of 30 will be assigned to each internship report.

A grade out of 30 will be assigned to the written paper concerning the community survey.
5. Technical-practical oral exam on the listed contents. (evaluation in 30ths).
6. Participation in classroom internship activities.
Those who have attended 300 hours of internship provided for in the study plan can access the oral exam, except in special cases provided for by the regulations, and who have delivered the register of internship signatures, the community survey, the internship diary within the deadline. foreseen.
The oral exam will be awarded a mark out of 30.
The exam score is attributed by means of a mark expressed out of thirty calculated on the basis of the weighted average of the scores reported. To achieve the maximum score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate an excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course.
In the case of a fractional result, any rounding will be up if ≥0.5, or down if <0.5. For example: If the average grade is ≥ 27.5 the recorded grade will be 28. If the average is <27.5 the recorded grade will be 27.
