Knowledge and understanding of the recognition systems of clinical signs and symptoms in the phoniatric field of head and neck oncology. Knowledge of specific diagnostic techniques, use of physical examination, importance of the anamnesis and instrumental evaluation and hints of therapy in the crevice-cefalic oncology. Ability to apply this knowledges in the specific context of speech therapy assessment and rehabilitation.
Notions of anatomy and physiology of the pneumonia-phono-articulatory system and swallowing. Basic knowledge go general pathology related to oncology.
Knowledges and understandings of the recognition systems of clinical signs and symptoms in head and neck oncology. Particular attention and regards to the study of oral cavity, oropharynx and maxillofacial tumors. use of specific techniques and hints of therapy.

Outline of general cancer pathology. The concepts of oncogenesis and the natural history of head and neck malignant tumors. Predisposing factors, risk factors. Precancerous lesions. tumor satiation. Clinical and instrumental diagnosis. Outline of surgical therapy and the role of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. prognosis and survival. The role of the speech therapist; aspects of te therapeutic rehabilitation overlap between surgeon and speech therapist. The deficit of the speech, swallowing, respiratory function after radical and major surgery of the head and neck area.
