This Course considers human language through a range of lenses, from anatomophysiology to philosophy and language development processes in order to understand the relevant pathologies and their rehabilitation. Internships take place in public, private and affiliated facilities under the supervision of trained healthcare tutors.

Educational objectives
This Course aims to train health professionals who are dedicated to the health needs of people, communities and their environment through the prevention, assessment and rehabilitation of communication, language, voice and swallowing disorders of individuals of any age.

Career prospects
Graduates are qualified to become professional speech therapists who can work as employees or as free-lancers within the national health service, in affiliated facilities, in research hospitals and in private structures. Graduates can also continue their studies with a master’s degree in rehabilitation or in related disciplines.

Final examination and degree
Graduates obtain a bachelor’s degree (EQF 6) directly qualifying them for the speech therapy profession at national level. The final mark is given out of 110. The final examination consists of passing the national qualification exam and of defending a short thesis in front of a board of examiners.
