The course aims to prepare well-informed healthcare professionals about the regulations governing workplace safety. D1. Knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course, the student will have to demonstrate knowledge of the rules and guidelines for the professional activity of speech therapist. Safe working procedures and safe working practices relating to the correct use of collective and personal protective equipment. D2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course the student must be able to find, recognise and interpret a regulatory text and/or a guideline on safety in healthcare. D3: Making judgements: At the end of the course, the student must be able to analyse and propose choices for safety in health care settings. D4: Communication skills: At the end of the course, the student must be able to demonstrate the concepts of knowledge and ability to understand safety in healthcare settings. D5. Learning skills: By the end of the course, the student should be able to independently deepen the topics covered and also be able to transfer the concepts learned to subsequent courses.
Have completed the general training course for workers (4 hours) and passed the final learning test. Material available on moodle.
The course content covers principles, methods and rules governing occupational safety in health professions.

The evaluation of the student includes a written test (29 multiple-choice questions and 1 short-answer question), possible tests in progress in which questions concerning the course program are proposed The student must demonstrate that he has achieved the learning objectives of the course. The exam score is attributed by means of a vote expressed out of thirty. To pass the exam (18/30) the student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics. To achieve the maximum score (30/30 cum laude), the student must demonstrate that he has acquired an excellent knowledge of all the topics covered. In order to obtain the certificate for specific training in occupational health and safety (Legislative Decree 81/2008), at least 70% of the questions must be answered correctly.
