Syllabus

At the end of the seminar, the student will be able to:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Describe the nursing role in the outpatient management of cardiac patients
Integrate medical-specialist knowledge with clinical-assistive evaluations regarding the main cardiovascular diseases

APPLIED KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Apply acquired knowledge to develop and implement personalized care plans for cardiac patients, using clinical assessments, assistive care, and educational interventions
AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
Critically evaluate the care needs of cardiac patients
Assess the achievement of the planned care objectives
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Use appropriate specialized terminology
LEARNING SKILLS
Identify suitable sources for professional development in the cardiovascular field

Compliance with the prerequisites

4-hour meetings:
1. Promotion of cardiovascular health
2. Training and skill of the nurse of cardiology. Nursing management of the patient in oral anticoagulant therapy (VKA and DOAC)
3. Nursing management of the chronic cardiac patient
4. Nursing management of the patient with heart failure
5. Nursing management of the frail patient with CV disease
6. Outpatient cardiovascular nursing triage

A training course on nursing taking care of cardiac outpatients, aimed at completing the medical knowledge of participants with specific informations on nursing clinical assessment and educational intervention in order care plans in specific cardiovascular disease.

The teaching of the seminar is divided into meetings with lectures, presentations with slides, analysis and discussion of clinical cases. Lessons will be recorded during the lesson and made available to students for study.

Lessons will be present on the Moodle platform and/or on the Teams platform

Written assignment, in groups of 2-3 people, developing a care plan for 1 or 2 clinical cases selected from those presented in class. The evaluation will be: Pass (“approvato) or Fail (“non approvato”). The exam will be considered Passed if the student has developed a clinical case comprehensively and in line with the content discussed during the seminar.
