The "Applied Biostratigraphy and Stratigraphic Correlations" course provides information on the biostratigraphic methods to be applied on sedimentary sequences and on methods to correlate coeval sequences distant from each other.
At the end of the course the student must:
- know the groups of fossils useful for dating the rocks in the various time intervals;
- know how to use the biostratigraphic method to date a sedimentary rock;
- know how to apply stratigraphic correlation methods between distant sequences.
