Syllabus

The Course aims to give basic notions in the field of labor law and industrial relations through a theoretical and practical approach useful for several work activities.
Within the course, through the numerous seminar activities also carried out by external teachers, students will experience forms of interaction and critical learning on different aspects of the labour law in order to implement communication skills, new learning methods and independent judgment.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course, students will have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of
Labour Law fundamental concepts.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course, the student must be able to: - orient himself within the rules of labor law, identifying the main rules applied to the employment relationship; - recognize the major criticalities resulting from the application of the rules examined during the course; - link the critical issues to the aspects of the employment relationship so as to apply the rules in practice thanks also to the analysis of the jurisprudence.
AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
At the end of the course, the student will have to demonstrate that they use concepts critically and independently and they will have to know how to apply the rules studied to concrete cases.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
The oral exam aims to verify the student's ability to use, effectively, appropriate and with specific language, the concepts learned during the course.
LEARNING ABILITY
At the end of the course the student must demonstrate that he is able to apply the knowledge, the
minimum skills and competences foreseen in this syllabus.

The Course aims to give basic notions in the field of public labor law through a theoretical and practical approach useful for several work activities.

It is reccomended the use of a labour law code.

The Course aims to give basic notions in the field of public labor law through a theoretical and practical approach useful for several work activities. In particular, the following issues will be studied.
Sources of law and trade union rights: regulatory developments of public employment; collective bargaining and trade union rights; strike in essential public services. The individual employment relation: recruitment and flexible forms of employment; job classification and remuneration; public management; working time and rest; suspension of the employment relation; health and safety obligations; protection against discriminations; employee obligations and disciplinary power; employee mobility; termination of employment; jurisdiction with regard to labour disputes.

Analysis of case law and consultation of law rules and juridical materials.
In addition to the lectures, the course will consist of seminar activities, group workshops, case simulations.

Some exclusions of parts of the program may be indicated by the professor during the course of which attendance is recommended.
The program will be appropriately balanced for students of other degree courses in which the exam confers fewer credits.

Oral examination. The exam will cover the course program and will be used to assess the student's basic preparation. In particular, it will be divided into questions about the employment relations, the Trade Union relations and the sources of labor law.
The student will have to demonstrate that he is able to frame the legal case of the question, identifying the salient features of the legal rules.
The exam test score is attributed by a mark expressed in thirtieths. For
pass the exam (18/30) the student must demonstrate that he has acquired knowledge
sufficient of the program topics covered by the exam questions. To achieve the maximum score (30/30 with honors), the student
instead, he must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered
during the course, correctly answering all questions.
Very good (27 -29): good knowledge of the subjects, remarkable
fluency in language, good analytical skills; the student is in
able to correctly apply theoretical knowledge to concrete cases.
-Good (24-26): good knowledge of the main topics, fair
language skills; the student shows an adequate ability
to apply theoretical knowledge to concrete cases.
-Satisfactory (21-23): the student does not show full mastery
of the main topics of teaching, while possessing the
fundamental knowledge; however, it shows satisfactory properties of
language and sufficient ability to apply theoretical knowledge a
concrete cases.
-Sufficient (18-20): minimal knowledge of the main topics
of teaching and technical language, limited ability to apply
appropriate theoretical knowledge to concrete cases.
-Insufficient (<18): the student lacks knowledge
acceptable content of the different topics of the program.

During the lessons, the legal bases of legal systemwill be examined in the perspective of health and safety at work, principle of equality and prohibitions of discrimination, contrast to poor work.
