Structured into the following modules:

Syllabus

1. Knowledge and understanding: to be able to identify occupational hazards and prevention techniques to be applied in workplaces to prevent injuries and occupational diseases in physiotherapists. Moreover, the student will acquire the basic notions of forensic medicine, deontology and health ethics.
2. Applying knowledge and understanding: to be able to understand occupational hazards and prevention techniques to be applied in workplace and to interpret a text relating to the subjects studied.
3. Making judgements: be able to recognize occupational injuries and diseases and be able to autonomously assess the legal terms of the doctor-patient relationship.
4. Communication skills: be able to communicate occupational hazards and understand related risks and to present the knowledge acquired in point 1) with accuracy and property of language.
5. Learning skills: be able to deepen arguments learned during the course, also looking to specific literature finding and understanding the regulatory and technological updates of the subject studied.

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiology, pneumology, audiology, internal medicine.

FORENSIS MEDICINE
Historical aspects, aims, services, legal medicine as medicine of the rights.
The legal practice of medical profession and its justification. Medical association, deontologic code, relationship with patients, physicians and sanitary organizations. Citizen's rights and sanitary rights' charter. Treatment's refusal. Forced sanitary treatment. Medical research, bioethics in the fields of assisted procreation

Programma esteso PROGR_EST 3800 Sì Le patologie professionali e lavoro correlate. Infortuni e malattie professionali. Patologie da agenti fisici (rumore, microclima, vibrazioni, elettricità, radiazioni ionizzanti e non ionizzanti)
Patologie da agenti chimici (metalli, solventi, fitofarmaci, gas tossici, nanomateriali). Patologie da agenti biologici in ambito sanitario ed extrasanitario. Stress e rischi psicosociali. Il lavoro a turni e notturno. Patologie professionali dell'apparato respiratorio, del sistema nervoso centrale e periferico, del cuore e dei vasi, del sistema ematopoietico, del fegato e del rene. Patologie allergiche professionali. Dermatopatie professionali. Patologie muscoloscheletriche professionali. Epidemiology, clinic, treatment and prevention of occupational diseases. FORENSIS MEDICINE
Historical aspects, aims, services, legal medicine as medicine of the rights.
The legal practice of medical profession and its justification. Medical association, deontologic code, relationship with patients, physicians and sanitary organizations. Citizen's rights and sanitary rights' charter. Treatment's refusal. Forced sanitary treatment.
Mortuary police rules. External examination of the corpse. Diagnosis, treatment's choice, prescription. Clinical records. Professional responsabilty. Domiciliary assistence. Problems with paternity, motherhood and filiation. Private insurance contracts (life insurance, accidents, civil responsabiliy), application to pshysicians.

Oral examination for Occupational Medicine.
Test with 33 sentences (true/wrong) for Forensis Sciences.
The final grade will be obtained with the arithmetic mean between the 2 exams.
- Excellent (29, 30, 30 cum laude): excellent knowledge of the topics, excellent language skills, excellent analytical skills. Brilliant capability to recognize occupational diseases.
- Very good (26 - 28): good knowledge of the subjects, remarkable language proficiency, good analytical skills; more than good capability to recognize occupational diseases.
- Good (22-25): moderate knowledge of the main topics, good command of the language; moderate capability to recognize occupational diseases.
- Sufficient (18-21 minimal knowledge of the main teaching topics and technical language, limited ability to recognize occupational diseases.
- Insufficient: lack of acceptable knowledge of the contents of the different topics of the program.
