Syllabus

D1. Knowledge and understanding
The objective of the course is to provide students with the capability of using software tools, with specific reference to the field of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. The topics of the course will be addressed giving the student an immediate possibility of autonomous application.

D2. Applying knowledge and understanding
The student will be able to apply the knowledge acquired during the course to standard problems associated with Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.

D3. Making judgements
The student will be able to autonomously judge how to use the software tool to analyse a problem or to automatize solution procedures.

D4. Communication skills
The student will be able to clearly communicate the results obtained from the application of software tools, and how the software tools have been applied.

D5. Learning skills
The student will acquire an approach to the topics of the course which promote an autonomous attitude towards the improvement and extension of knowledge and usage capabilities of software tools.

Suggested basic knowledge of programming and of principles of naval architecture and marine engineering.

Topics are presented giving the students the possibility of an of an immediate application at the computer.
Lectures materials is made available through MOODLE2 of University of Trieste.
The final examination is oral, and it deals with the topics addressed during the course.



The final examination is oral.
Each student shall develop and present an application example.
The final evaluation is of pass/fail type.
To pass the exam, the student shall prove to have acquired the necessary skills to develop, present and discuss the application example.
