Syllabus

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge for the design of a transportation service, for the design of a terminal (freight or passenger) and for the use of a software for discrete event simulation. D1 - Knowledge and understanding At the end of the course, the student will have to know the main aspects of the transport system, the methodologies for operation plannng and management and the elements for the design of a terminal (freight or passengers), in the wider field of Logistics The student will also gain in-depth knowledge of CargoWise. D2 - Applying knowledge and understanding The student must be able to use specific SW tools and design and verify a service and a terminal. D3 - Making judgements At the end of the course the student must be able to carry out a critical examination of the correct application of the knowledge acquired and applied to the design. D4 - Communication At the end of the course the student must be able to explain correctly and with the correct use of the technical terms the knowledge and practical skills acquired D5 - Lifelong learning skills The student must be able to deal with the study of more complex aspects related to transport planning and design in subsequent courses or during the professional life.

Oral Exam 1 exercise referred to the design of a transit service or in the field of logistics The evaluation will consider: correctness and completeness of the answers, use of correct technical language, possible connections with different elements of the discipline, care in the execution of the exercises
