The course aims to provide students with knowledge of the structure of Italian criminal proceedings, enabling them to critically use the sources of criminal procedural law, to express themselves correctly in technical-procedural language and to develop argumentative skills.

The course will be devoted to the analysis of the following topics: on the one hand, the basic notions of constitutional and conventional principles relating to the criminal trial; on the other hand, the fundamental elements of the criminal procedure from a dynamic point of view.

The course will be developed in classroom lectures and seminars.
The final exam consists of an oral test, divided into a series of questions on the topics covered by the official program. The score is calculated on the basis of the quality of the answers given by the candidate. The student must demonstrate that he/she have acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics covered by the Course program. To achieve the maximum score , the student must instead demonstrate that he/she have acquired an excellent knowledge of the topics covered by the questions formulated during the exam.
