Syllabus

The specific objective of the module is to consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired in the first two years of the course by integrating them with the disciplines addressed in the 3rd year, such as occupational medicine, violence management, addiction management and promotion of physical activity. In-depth study of healthcare assistant tools and protocols.
Knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate knowledge of the role of the Healthcare Assistant in the management of activities in the field of infectious diseases, vaccinations, oncology screening, cardiovascular prevention and health promotion in general, medicine of work, family counseling including management of violence and addictions.
Applied knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course the student must be able to apply the information and knowledge acquired to different types of situations relating to professional practice both in a protected environment (classroom exercises) and in the internship experience.
Communication skills: At the end of the course the student must be able to present the knowledge learned and argue his/her point of view in various moments of comparison and discussion.
Making judgement: At the end of the course the student must be able to critically analyze the operating methods, techniques and tools presented using them correctly in the context and to the work situation or to the individual case proposed during the exercise classroom.
Ability to learn: At the end of the course the student must be able to delve deeper into the topics covered in the course through critical analysis and discussion, also through consultation of bibliography texts.

For admission to the internship exam: 100% presence and participation in the clinical internship and classroom internships.

During the classroom training the following topics related to the role of the Healthcare Assistant will be addressed:
Laboratory for instrumental tests in prevention activities (performance of spirometry and electrocardiogram and visual examination).
Interventions by clinical tutors expert in the area of ​​frailty, chronicity and psychiatry.
Problem based learning methodologies: analysis of cases that reflect the concepts transmitted during the lessons to strengthen theoretical learning. Consolidation of the methodology and practical exercise.
Introduction and presentation of the thesis work: choice of typology, approach, editing, purpose of the study, materials and methods, results, bibliography, the crime of plagiarism, respect for privacy.

During the lessons, handouts and useful study material and texts used by the teachers of the respective disciplines will be provided.



Frontal lessons in the classroom.
Practical and interactive classroom activities and exercises, carried out individually and in groups with the supervision of the professional tutor.
Attendance at the internship locations in agreement and sub-agreement with the teaching institution to which you belong with the supervision of the internship assistant, according to the planning communicated by the professional tutor. The locations will be: Family counseling centers, cardiovascular prevention, sports medicine, nursing homes, health surveillance of health company workers, private occupational medicine centers, addiction department, USMAF, Occupational Medicine, neuropsychiatry, Centers for eating disorders, Mental Health Department, Sexually transmitted disease centers. Drafting of an internship report with construction of job description.



The final evaluation is based on:
1. The evaluation of the observational internship compiled by the internship tutors, at the end of the attendance in the services, is aimed at measuring the student's abilities in relation to the relational, behavioral and organizational area and the degree of autonomy.
2. The evaluation of the internship report which will take into account the relevance of the paper to the delivery, the ability to describe the service, the related activities and the role of the healthcare assistant within it. It will also take into account the ability to carry out a self-analysis with respect to the training opportunity and a self-assessment of knowledge, skills and attitudes in the sector. Appropriate uses of register and linguistic expression and editorial format will also be rewarded. However, delivery times not respected will be penalized.
Each internship report will be assigned a grade out of 30.
3. Technical-practical oral test on the contents listed. (evaluation out of 30).
4. Participation in classroom internship activities.
Those who have attended 750 hours of internship envisaged in the study plan in the period (March-July) can access the oral test, except in the particular cases provided for by the regulation, and who have submitted the internship signature register and internship report within the established deadlines.
The oral test will be assigned a mark out of 30.
The score of the exam is attributed by means of a mark expressed out of thirty calculated on the basis of the weighted average of the scores reported. To achieve the maximum score of 30/30 cum laude the student must demonstrate that he has achieved excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course.
In the case of a fractional result, any rounding will be up if ≥0.5, or down if <0.5. For example: If the average grade is ≥ 27.5 the recorded grade will be 28. If the average is <27.5 the recorded grade will be 27.
