Syllabus

Knowledge and ability to understand:
At the end of the course the student has to demonstrate the knowledge and to elaborate the basic concepts regarding the topics of the prevention and promotion of the health:
1. Preconceptional assistance
2. Birth path
3. Nutrition
4. Vaccination
5. Prenatal diagnosis
6. Big obstetrical syndromes
7. Sexually transmitted diseases
8. Contraception
9. Screening for cervical pathology

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course the student has to be able to apply the acquired knowledge to the clinical practice. Moreover, the students has to have and demonstrate the knowledge regarding the diagnostic and preventive path of the major gynecological and obstetrical pathologies.

Judgment’s autonomy: The judgment's autonomy is developed throughout the preparation for the exam, that needs individual re-elaboration and assimilation of the presented material during lessons. To achieve this goal, clinical cases are discussed in groups with individual questions. At the end of the course, the students have to demonstrate that they acquired not only the knowledge of the concepts, but to be also able to provide appropriate judgements.

Communication skills: At the end of the course, the students have to be able to express and explain themselves with an appropriate scientific terminology acquired throughout the lessons, educational material and/or the recommended text. The lessons will be performed in a way to encourage the students to interact with the aim to learn the scientific lexicon, to know to build questions and to debate their thesis.

Learning ability: at the end of the course the student has to be able to analyse in depth autonomously the discussed topics presented in this Syllabus.

The course foresees:
- frontal lessons in presence
- discussion of clinical cases.
The registration of the presence will be performed by a dedicated software.

The educational material produced during the course, that the shudent has to refer to, will be found on MS Teams software.

The judgement of the student foresees a written exam with multiple choices questions.
The student has to demonstrate to have the knowledge of the topics that are detailed in the extended program of this Syllabus.
The score of the exam is attributes by a mark expressed in thirtieth.
There are 32 questions, each with 4 possible options and one correct answer.
For incorrect answers there are no penalities.
To pass the exam the student has to answer correctly to at least 18 questions (18/32).
To obtain the maximum score (30 and honours), the student has to answer correctly to at least 31 questions (31/32).

This course explores topics closely related to one or more goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs)
