Syllabus

Know the general concepts of epidemiology applied to the practice of the health professions. Acquire the fundamental notions of epidemiology to be able to interpret the results of scientific publications
Knowing how to use the main data analysis and processing tools. Knowing how to interpret the main graphic representations of a phenomenon or activity.



Outline of hygiene and public health and applications of epidemiology in data analysis and monitoring.
Application of basic work tools for data analysis (spreadsheets, graph processing, pivot tables).
Statistical exercises - Graphical representation of data: processing data and building graphs
Infectious disease surveillance: main technical skills for conducting the epidemiological investigation
Surveillance systems: tools for detecting the health needs of the population: reading and commenting on the data contained in the reports.
Epidemiology and population screening in the prevention of noncommunicable diseases: read and comment on the data

During the lessons, handouts and useful study material will be provided (enough to take the exam).
