In university healthcare degree courses, one-third of the credits required by the study plan (60 CFU) are allocated to placement activities and professional development. During your placement, you will have the opportunity to develop and deepen the concepts learned in the corresponding teaching semester.
In the first year, initial professional development and placement activities are carried out at healthcare companies.
In the second year, placement activities continue in the fields of prevention, health promotion, and health education. You will have the opportunity to implement the knowledge acquired in various courses within the study plan and gain greater practical skills.
The third year includes an extended placement period, lasting approximately 750 hours. The programme follows the experiential learning approach, enabling you to develop transversal skills such as soft skills, problem setting and problem solving, and research activities. You will enhance your communication and interpersonal skills within the corporate environment, develop autonomous learning abilities, and improve your technological, linguistic, and relational competencies. A distinctive feature of the third-year placement is achieving a level of autonomy in the various areas of work where practical activities take place.
Placement activities can be carried out within public and private companies affiliated with UNITS.
