General Information
The final examination involves the public discussion of a written thesis developed under the supervision of a supervisor, who can be either a professor from the Course of Study or an authorised external expert. The thesis, whether experimental or compilative, must demonstrate your ability to independently explore the assigned topic, including conducting bibliographic research.
The thesis will be evaluated by an Examination Committee composed of five members appointed by the Head of Department.
You may write your thesis in a foreign language but you must include an abstract in Italian.
Final Grade
The Examination Committee evaluates the thesis on a scale of 110 based on:
- The weighted average of your grades
- An additional 0 to 7 points depending on the quality of the thesis and presentation
- An additional 3 points if you graduate within the extraordinary session of the 3rd year
By unanimous decision, the Examination Committee may award the highest grade with honours (lode).
